As you may have noticed Filesonic suspended downloading of files this weekend. This is probably due to Megaupload being destroyed by FBI.
Many other file hosts have fully or partially closed their services, and this will probably change the internet as we know and love.

Let us hope MPAA, RIAA, and all the other backward power houses in Hollywood (and worldwide) will go out of business soon. Their business models are ancient and they need to get up to date with the technology, instead of trying to cripple the internet.

For now Core News will take a break and observe what will happen next. Thanks for understanding and keep on loving good music.

Some of you might have noticed a lack of posts on Core News during the last two weeks. The reasons for this are several including a broken modem, a broken ADSL line and malware-hell caused by old Java installs. Core News are more or less back on track now so expect to see the regular radio shows/mixes appearing once again as downloads.
I appologize for the slow period on the blog and I hope the bad streak is over!

What a year 2009 has been for us music lovers! I have discovered tons of new talent this year and even experienced new styles of wicked music. I want to thank both old and new readers for making it so enjoyable to blog about the music I love, and making the blog grow bigger and bigger.

Core News is taking a 10 day holiday break as I’m heading to Northern Norway (you might see sporadic posts depending on my internet connection), but Core News will come back with massive mixes in the beginning of 2010. Next year I also want to make some changes to Core News like a much needed redesign of the blog, podcasts, exclusive mixes and more. If you haven’t already you can get updated by subscribing to the feed by a feed reader or email to get notified when the mixes start turning up again.

Thought I would start a new section on Core News. At the end of each month I will make a post where I list all the mixes I have posted this month and I will choose my favorite mix of the month.

This month has been great for Core News with a new record for RSS subscribers with a peak at 384. It is very encouraging to see this blog grow and it makes it fun to post more good music. Thanks to everyone who follows Core News 🙂
Core News also changed file host this month from Rapidshare to Hotfile. The new file host has received some complaints as it seems to be a bit slower for some. I’ve talked with Hotfile and they are promising faster speeds when they get new servers, but for now I will post a Rapidshare mirror for Mary Anne Hobbs shows and maybe other files if needed. Btw, you can support Core News by registering at Hotfile.com by using this referral link if you need a file host.

It has to be the Rob da Bank and friends show on 2009-04-20 where Martyn and TRG played two mixes. I love the blend of dubstep and other bass driven genres in these mixes. Absolutely wonderful!
