Breakcore.nl is out with yet another release. This time it is a free mp3 compilation called Themeless that contains an incredible 37 tracks (324 MB download) from breakcore producers. I wouldn’t call the release strictly as breakcore because there are some jungle and tracks that borderlines to hardcore.

BBC Radio 1 has been rewinding some of the old Essential mixes and here is a drum&bass mix from High Contrast that was rewinded on BBC Radio 1 the 30th of December, 2008. High Contrast played this mix back in 2003. Should be nice mix for all the d&b heads out there.

A.L.F. is out with a new album on blind rec. It is called Stockholm syndrom orchestra and is a bit of experimental, breakcore stuff (a bit hard to classify this kind of music, not that it matters). It is released both as vinyl and free mp3, but I haven’t figured out where you can buy the vinyl. Cool stuff!

Here is a pretty sweet dubstep / ambient mix from a Dutch called Myrkur. Love that he mixes different styles together and especially that he is using a tune from Biosphere in the mix. Biosphere comes from Tromsø, a town in Northern Norway where I lived for 8-9 years, and he makes the most wonderful ambient music.

Last Saturday I were able to see Mary Anne Hobbs DJ’ing in Oslo at the Villa club. It was so wicked to listen and dance to the tracks that MAH selected because I loved every single track (and had a bit too much to drink). Recommended!

There was some technical problems with the Squarepusher set so it got canceled for this weeks Mary Anne Hobbs.
