6 Mix 2011-12-18 My Name is Tiga

“Canada’s electro ambassador Tiga returns to his 6 Mix residency with the second of four shows exploring his love of synthesized music past, present and future.
Based in Montreal, Tiga’s introduction to dance music came with the early 90s rave scene which inspired him to become a club DJ and set up his own label, Turbo Recordings. In the last decade he has become one of the most prolific producers in the world, remixing tracks by Soulwax, Fever Ray and The xx as well as releasing inspired covers of Nelly and Corey Hart. He’s also made his own solo albums – Sexor and Ciao! – and collaborates with Zombie Nation under the alias ZZT.
Following his rapturously received 6 Mix earlier this year, Tiga began a bi-monthly 6 Music residency, playing a range of electronic music from the past three decades. In the second show of the series, Tiga selects cutting edge cuts from his DJ travels, alongside musings on music, football and much, much more; all with a festive twist.”

Solid Steel Show 2011-12-16 DK and DJ Irk

“Solid Steel in association with Serato (16th December) We continue with the second part of Cymatic Frequencies II by DK, the Video Mixtape reviewing some of his favourite mixes from this year with added visuals. Using more Original Videos from the artist this time and the quality of the music is equally as good as Part 1. It’s a sombre start with Gil Scott-Heron RIP, followed by James Blake and hip hop from Paul White, Danny Brown and Shabazz Palaces. Ninja Tune feature with Mr Scruff, Toddla T, Raffertie and Fink, with Big Dada represented by Wiley & Offshore. There’s 2 from Martyn on Brainfeeder, Zed Bias features 3 times and it’s big club tracks from Joe Goddard, Julio Bashmore and Fourtet. Plus there’s a few classics from Liquid Liquid, Radiohead and Har You Percussion group to close a visual feast.
The votes are in, polling stations closed and for the second year, DJ Irk gets your vote for Mix of the Year. He cropped up a few times in 2011, but it was his mix from March that was the most popular with some bone crunching beats from the likes of Broken Note, Bassnectar and our very own King Cannibal. Then on to some electro-hip hop flavours, showcasing sounds from Dizz1, Cherry Chan and Kiat, plus music from Machinedrum, Bonobo and Modeselektor all mixed to the highest standard. Take another listen.”

Resident Advisor podcast #287 by Red D

“Bart Van Neste has been DJing for 20 years—and as you can probably tell from the name of his label, he has a pretty clear agenda. We Play House was set up in 2008 as a vehicle for the productions of upstart Belgian producer San Soda and has since expanded out to take in artists (who make house) from right across the scene. The prerequisite for an appearance on the label has been a personal relationship with Van Neste, usually formed by DJs/producers such as Tyree Cooper and Reggie Dokes passing through Clues—the weekly party Van Neste has played for the last 14 years in his home town Deinze—and the monthly WPH night out of Ghent. Van Neste started out as “the guy tying things together and making sure all is well” but has since moved into production, linking up with San Soda to form FCL and writing WPH’s biggest hit, “Let’s Go,” in the process. He also recently formed VFB alongside Motor City Drum Ensemble, splitting a 12-inch, Love Description EP, for Delusions Of Grandeur between his two collaborative projects.”
