Gilles Peterson Worldwide 2010-09-08 Cee-Lo Green co-hosts the show

“A very special back to back show this week with Cee Lo Green. The man behind Gnarls Barkley and an original member of Goodie Mob, Cee Lo joins Gilles for the two hour show, picking some tunes and getting deep in to conversation. Find out how he feels about his massive ‘Crazy’ track, what’s happening with the currently unreleased ‘I Want You’ and why he wrote a track that’s never going to get played on US radio! He also speaks about Prince’s private parties & how he found out about Adam Ant. There’s even a bit of freestyle singing in there to.”

  1. Another special show. Although i personally think the recent Badu, Mos Def and Thom Yorke ones are far superior, this show still has some killer selections (Bootsy, Plantlife, Smokey, Milt Jackson and two Cee-Lo Green unreleased gems).

“Like A Ship” is actually by Pastor T.L. Barrett & The Youth For Christ Choir. GP played it a few weeks back. The CD album is superb.

GP also played Spandau Ballet “Gold” after Dexys and the unknown calypso reggae at the end of the show. Tune ID would be great.

Lots of people joked about the cheesy 80s Radio 2 songs on WW, but i think it’s quite alright.

  2. No worries, Thomas……..

……… Thanks for all your hard work in making these shows available to us.

    You are a GODSEND! 🙂

  3. Thanks for another GP Radio One Show……..

………. Will there be any of Gilles’s INTERNATIONAL Shows released, in the future?
