Solid Steel Show 2011-05-06 Hexstatic and Dangerscouse

“Hexstatic in the mix this week with, as ever, the broadest beats. Celebrating the release of the new ‘Scan Me EP’ we find a mix full of influences of summers both past and future. We start with classics from St Etienne, Funky Green Dogs and T-Connection,…then into some sunny vibes from Caribou. Djedjotronic’s Uranus hits us with some heavy electro vibes before Seiji gives us More Of You. A lovely bass heavy remix of James Blake’s now classic leads into the foot stomping re edit edit of Archie Bells ‘Time Is Right’. Uffies ‘SUV’ remixed by Armand Van Helden is a guilty pleasure slice of dancefloor cheese, but who cares when it sounds f***ing great on a Miami sound system 🙂 Hexstatic present `Trailer Trax’ new track ‘Her Scene’, a future retro rave anthem which you can download with the rest of this stomping EP for FREE here: http://hexstatic.bandcamp.com/ and leads into two remixes of Double 99’s classic RIP Groove and a haunting remix of The Beatles ‘A Day In The Life’ from Sei A to finish.
Dangerscouse returns to Solid Steel after 3 years and it’s another great slice of music to continue the summer vibes, starting with Max Romeo getting a Cumbia relick, Vadim’s project ‘The Electric’ and Ini Kamoze over Godessa. Classic breaks from Average White Band follows, then new music from Space Invadas with a similar feel and we continue through Basement Freaks, Leftfield and Radiohead to close.”

Goth-Trad live at Together Festival in Boston – Main Stage RBMA Radio

“Based in Japan, Goth-Trad was one of the first to adapt the sounds emanating from nights like DMZ outside of the UK, releasing an album worth as early as 2005. With a history of jungle productions behind him and a crafty way with samplers, synths and homemade gear, Goth-Trad shuns some of the minimalism prevalent in dubstep, building hefty tracks with plenty of flourishes. Playing with the likes of Kode9, being a part of the DMZ tour in Japan and releasing on Deep Medi shows him well rooted in the scene, while his work with Takeshi “HEAVY” Akimoto as Rebel Familia has seen him produce racks with legends like Ari Up and Max Romeo. Get ready to jump into the deep end with this set recorded live at Together Festival, Boston.”
