Don Letts 2017-06-04 Crucial Tenor Saw

“The Don’s selections cross time, space and genre. Each week, as well as blending his favourite new music with classics from the UK, USA, Jamaica, Africa and way beyond, he highlights a piece of Crucial Vinyl – a cherished album from his own collection This week it’s Fever, released by Tenor Saw in 1986.
Don says, “This is the debut album by the late, great and revered Jamaican artist, who set the island alight in 1985 with the reggae classic Ring The Alarm, but died three years later aged just 21. Born Clive Bright in Kingston, where he was a choirboy, he became a ‘singjay’, whose vocal style and choice of riddims would see him rule the digital dancehall scene of the mid-eighties.”.”
