The Kowton mix is fucking ill. Highly recommended!
“Solid Steel (9th May) Hour 1 this week is from Kowton, the Bristol based producer and Livity Sound label owner (alongside Peveralist and Asusu). The mix opens with German experimental musician Conrad Schnitzler and loaded with unreleased gems. As Kowton says “The mix is a snapshot of the kind of thing I’ve been playing recently: stripped back rhythms that work on the floor. New Pangaea, MMM, Tessela, Surgeon and bunch of other good stuff. Beyond that there’s not much to say.”
The latest release on Livity Sound features Pev / Kowton remixed by Ghost-202 and Beneath.
Stray is our guest in Hour 2, fresh from remix duties on the new Kate Tempest single ‘The Beigness’, which features in this mix. There’s a whole host of tracks kicking off with Larry Fisherman, Erick Arc Elliott and Jon Wayne, followed by recent guests Moresounds, NameBrandSound, Darkhouse Fam and Deft . Then it’s our own Machinedrum, two from the sorely missed DJ Rashad RIP, Exit label mates Instru:mental and Fracture, plus two from Stray’s brand new Chatterbox EP which is out now on Exit Records.”
