Mary Anne Hobbs 2014-12-13 with Julian Casablancas

“Stick some skinny jeans on. Fetch your Converse trainers. A music hero of the modern age, Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas appears on the show.
Julian is responsible for one of Mary Anne’s albums of 2014. His solo record ‘Tyranny’ is a weird, noisy stroke of genius.
Born in New York in 1978, Casablancas is credited with making angular guitar music cool again in 2001, when his band the Strokes appeared on the scene. He has also collaborated with Joshua Homme, Eddie Vedder, Dangermouse, Sparklehorse, Santigold, Pharrell, and Daft Punk. And of course who can forget his seasonal classic … his cover of ‘I Wish It Was Christmas Today’.
Mary Anne is delighted to welcome Julian to the programme .”
