Big surprise from the Essential Mix this week. My new favorite artist, Four Tet, has made the mix! 🙂
“One of the UK’s most creative music brains delivers a lush two hours of genre bending electronic music. Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet, is a London based producer and DJ who has held residencies at The End and Plastic People in the capital and regularly plays venues as diverse as The Plug in Sheffield to the Cartier Foundation in Paris. His fifth album as Four Tet is released this week, entitled ‘There Is Love In You’.”

Four Tet – Much Love To The Plastic People – DJ Mix December 2009

I have recently discovered the greatness of Four Tet and I just discovered this mix called “Much Love To The Plastic People” on Soundcloud. The mix isn’t available as download anymore from Soundcloud so I thought I would share some download links with you guys 🙂
Here is what Kieran Hebden himself got to say about the mix:
“On December 11th (2009) I’ll be doing the last night of a DJ residency I’ve had at Plastic People in London for the last year or so. As a thank you to the people who have been coming down I’ve made a mix CD of some of the tracks that I’ve been playing at those nights and a free copy will be given to everyone who comes through the door for this last session. This will not be for sale anywhere and is just for this one night. A lot of the music on the new Four Tet album was tested out at these Plastic People nights and this club is a big inspiration to me. Look forward to seeing you there on the 11th.”
