“Stuart revisits the German kosmische band The Cosmic Jokers’ 1974 album, Galactic Joke. The supergroup consisted of Dieter Dierks, Ash Ra Tempel’s Manuel Göttsching, Tangerine Dream’s Klaus Schulze and Jürgen Dollase and Harald Grosskopf of Wallenstein. Galactic Joke was their debut release, created during a series of wild all-nighters in producer Dieter Dierks’ studio near Cologne and was originally released without the knowledge or permission of the musicians. The result is a remarkable free-form freak out consisting of two mammoth tracks of throbbing bass, atmospheric synths and keyboard.
