A.L.F. is out with a new album on blind rec. It is called Stockholm syndrom orchestra and is a bit of experimental, breakcore stuff (a bit hard to classify this kind of music, not that it matters). It is released both as vinyl and free mp3, but I haven’t figured out where you can buy the vinyl. Cool stuff!

Myrkur – F.4.T. Music Mix02 Promo – dubstep and ambient mix

Here is a pretty sweet dubstep / ambient mix from a Dutch called Myrkur. Love that he mixes different styles together and especially that he is using a tune from Biosphere in the mix. Biosphere comes from Tromsø, a town in Northern Norway where I lived for 8-9 years, and he makes the most wonderful ambient music.

This week we get some of the best sets being played on Mary Anne Hobbs in 2008. The sets are by Hudson Mohawke, Pangaea, Silkie & Quest, Joker, Flying Lotus, L.D., LV, Autechre and Martyn.
Last Saturday I were able to see Mary Anne Hobbs DJ’ing in Oslo at the Villa club. It was so wicked to listen and dance to the tracks that MAH selected because I loved every single track (and had a bit too much to drink). Recommended!

There was some technical problems with the Squarepusher set so it got canceled for this weeks Mary Anne Hobbs. Instead we get lots of quality tunes and a playback of the wicked set that N-Type played back in February. interim_descriptor – IDM mix with tons of sweet tunes

A few days ago I recieved an IDM mix in my mail box. This sweet mix is made by interim_descriptor from San Francisco, US and it consists of many of my favorite IDM tunes. You can download it as a mp3 mix or a ogg version where the tunes are split.
interim_descriptor has made this mix with a piece of software he has written from scratch. The software is using an M-Audio Xponent as a MIDI controller. Once it is ready he wants to make the software open source for everyone.

I love getting tips on new mixes and releases so please contact me if you have some information. For reviews I prefer a full version of the release.

breakcore.nl (the label behind the No Time To Waste compilation) is out with a new compilation CD called Offline (BM002). It consists of tracks by breakcore producers from the Netherlands. I recognize some quality breakcore artists on this compilation and fresh ones probably got great tunes too.
The CD can be ordered from their site for € 10.
