“Solid Steel in association with Serato (15th October) This week, we switch over to our far eastern branch of Solid Steel with DJ Kentaro. He has his turn mixing up tracks from the Ninja XX boxset, like only he can. His skills on the turntables are incredible, as witnessed by those who saw him at the Ninja XX nights. Toddla T, Dark Sky and Diplo all feature alongside his own remix of Coldcut’s ‘Paid in full’.
Grasscut continue on a similar theme with their selection of Ninja Tune XX tracks. Music from Daedulus, Eskmo and Emika, plus a host of remixes from The Cinematic Orchestra, Flying Lotus, Micachu and Fourtet.
Hidden Orchestra provide the mix for the second hour promoting their new album ‘Night Walks’. The mix includes quite a few exclusives – various original tracks, some studio reworkings of Radiohead tunes and old 45s like Nut Rocker/Mrs.Thursday/Wonderful Land – plus beats from Xploding Plastix, DJ Krush, Floex and Headhunter, and acapellas from Quasimoto, OC, Phi-Life Cypher, Big Daddy Kane, Afu Ra, J-Live, Buju Banton and Massive Attack…”
