Dubpressure on MoS Radio 2011-09-12

“Dubpressure: The long-standing club night run by Unlikely, Letty, Dom and Kion of Clandestine Cultivations. Starting in 2005, it grew to become Brighton’s premier dubstep event, and thanks to the resident Gramps soundsystem one of UK’s best for deep bass – drawing regular roadblock crowds to the numerous seafront venues it has held residence in over the years.”

Solid Steel Show 2011-09-09 James Mountain and Arcadion

“J Mountain returns to Solid Steel after a lengthy hiatus lost in the musical ether in the search for the missing genre. This mix is inspired by a recent early hours DJ set at a Northern warehouse party. It features re-edits on Linda Lewis, Letta Mbulu, The Human League and more alongside new music from Brawther, Christophe via Julio Bashmore, Ben Westbeech via The Revenge, the lush ‘Gabriel’ by Joe Goddard and more of the finest beat broadness!
In hour 2, it’s a mix from DC Recordings artist Arcadion. With a new album called ‘More Petrol’ out next week, we get a taste of the music that had an influence in making the album, with the go go sounds of Mac Attack, Trouble Funk and Slim playing an important part, as well as P Funk from Parliament and Roger Troutman. We also here music from Frank Zappa, Buddy Miles and Prince Buster, plus 90’s jungle from Jason Mouse and Invisible Man, as well as tracks from Arcadion himself and his alter ego Hungry Ghost.”

6 Mix 2011-09-11 X-Press 2 takeover

“Godfathers of the UK house music scene X-Press 2 take over the 6 Mix with two hours of club classics and future floorfillers. Rocky and Diesel from the band first met at the legendary acid house nights Shroom and Specturum in the late 80s. Along with then member Ashley Beedle, the trio become stalwarts of the early 90s clubbing scene, releasing a series of seminal underground singles including ‘Raise Your Hands’ and ‘London X-Press.’ In 2002 they had a top three hit with Lazy, featuring the vocals of Talking Heads’ David Byrne, leading on to collaborations with Lambchop’s Kurt Wagner and The Music’s Rob Harvey. Since becoming a duo, Rocky & Diesel have been busy DJ-ing worldwide and putting the finishing touches to their forthcoming album which includes collaborations with James Yuill and Tim Deluxe. In their first 6 Mix since 2008, the band showcase a selection of their new material and other contemporary favourites, alongside classic anthems from the past 25 years of house music.”
