No new Mary Anne Hobbs this week so I thought I should post something different. BBC Radio 1 has been rewinding some of the old Essential mixes and here is a drum&bass mix from High Contrast that was rewinded on BBC Radio 1 the 30th of December, 2008. High Contrast played this mix back in 2003. Should be nice mix for all the d&b heads out there.

There was some technical problems with the Squarepusher set so it got canceled for this weeks Mary Anne Hobbs. Instead we get lots of quality tunes and a playback of the wicked set that N-Type played back in February. The N-Type mix takes us on a historical ride from old school jungle to 2 step garage to the dubstep of today.

Usually I don’t post Radio 1’s Essential mix, but I thought why not post the mix from London Elektricity since I’m betting a few of my readers like drum&bass. I enjoyed the second half of the mix from London Elektricity as it got some amens and old school vibes. The first part was a bit too “soft” for my taste. Nevertheless, it is nice to listen to something different than all the dubstep and breakcore.
