“An exclusive 30 minute mix from Manchester duo Space Afrika, who are about to release their new album ‘Honest Labour’, followed by a 30 minute mix from Tom himself.
Friends for almost two decades, the two Joshuas formed Space Afrika after years of listening to music together. They released Above The Concrete/Below The Concrete?(2014) and?Somewhere Decent To Live?(2018) and followed these last year with their mixtape?hybtwibt??(Have You Been Through What I’ve Been Through?), first recorded for broadcast on NTS Radio before being edited down to a half-hour collage and released a few days later in the wake of George Floyd’s murder.
Over the last two years, the duo have collaborated with the photographer, filmmaker and poet Tibyan Mahawah Sanoh and created the short film?Untitled (To Describe You).
Of the new album, they say “Ultimately this is an homage to U.K. energy, and an album about love and loss.””
