Kirk was a towering creative genius and an artist whose fearless experimentation revolutionised music. Formed in 1973, Cabaret Voltaire were pioneers of electronic and industrial music. Their experimental use of synthesisers and tape loops has influenced generations of pop, house, techno and art-rock artists, and in his solo work, Kirk continued to transform the UK club scene pushing sound in spaces no one else thought to go. He will be greatly missed.”
