“Philip Glass is one of my all time favourite musical artists. His work has infiltrated my life from a fairly young age and I’ve had the good fortune to see his works performed live by him and/or his ensemble on a number of occasions – the highlight being the full Qatsi trilogy performed at the Sydney Opera House.
His idiosyncratic style and approach to music has made him a unique and instantly recognisable presence in the world whether it’s his soundtrack work or his early experiments with his approach to rhythm in the classical field of music.
With this mix I’ve selected my twelve favourite tracks from his back catalogue in a kind of homage to his iconic Music in Twelve Parts. Hopefully they go some way to represent the scope of his output over the years. Enjoy.”
