Jerusalem In My Heart is an evolving effort to forge a modern experimental Arabic music wedded to hand-made visuals, using analog 16mm film at site-specific screen installations. “Xochimoki, the duo of ethnomusicologist Jim Berenholz and Aztec descendant / wisdom keeper Mazatl Galindo, deliver a 60 minute playlist of traditional Mesoamerican music. This playlist is unique in that almost all the tracks included have been created using the ancient instruments of the indigenous cultures of Mexico and Central America. Xochimoki’s songs are sung in Pre-Columbian Central and South American languages, including Nahuatl, Maya, Purepecha and Quechua. And much of their music was written at ancient ceremonial sites, in rituals and meditations, in communion with the spirits that rest there.”

Kirk was a towering creative genius and an artist whose fearless experimentation revolutionised music. Formed in 1973, Cabaret Voltaire were pioneers of electronic and industrial music. Their experimental use of synthesisers and tape loops has influenced generations of pop, house, techno and art-rock artists, and in his solo work, Kirk continued to transform the UK club scene pushing sound in spaces no one else thought to go. He will be greatly missed.”
