Kali Malone is an American artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. Her solo works implement unique tuning systems in minimalist form for analog and digital synthesis often combined with acoustic instrumentation, such as pipe organ, strings, choir, woodwinds and brass instruments. Using synthetic and acoustic instrumentation in repetitive and extended durations, Malone’s rich harmonic textures emit a distinct emotive hue serving to generate a captivating and uncanny depth of focus. Her work has been presented at Berlin Atonal, Moogfest, Cafe Oto, Intonal, Norberg Festival, The Swedish Radio, EMS Elektronmusikstudion & Fylkingen, Angelica Festival, The Royal College of Music, Robot Festival, and Boiler Room among others. Kali Malone’s Freak Zone Playlist comes ahead of her new album Does Spring Hide Its Joy, which is released in January 2023 and features Sunn O)’s Stephen O’Malley on electric guitar and Lucy Railton on cello.”
