When the Human League split in two in 1980, Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh formed the British Electric Foundation or B.E.F. Their very first release was the cassette-only release Music for Stowaways. Hugely innovative and influential, the album is now getting its first-ever reissue. Soon after its initial release, another B.E.F. production, Heaven 17, achieved both critical and commercial success, but that’s another story.
