“Gilles catches up with Simon from Bonobo, whose new album ‘The North Borders’ came out this week. Simon is currently practising with his band in Nashville, Tennessee, ahead of dates in the US and Europe. Album of The Week comes from Atoms For Peace, and there is a Bloodlines feature involving jazz legend Thelonious Monk and his son, TS Monk, who released some classic disco material in the 1970s. There are also a couple Do Overs, featuring Kanye West’s Flashing Lights alongside a new producer Tuesday Born, as well as a Fela Kuti sample, featured on the new Homeboy Sandman EP. There’s brand new music from James Blake’s Overgrown album that comes out next week, alongside new Tyler The Creator, Laura Mvula and Omar, as well classics from Ultra Nate, Diana Ross, Raphael Saadiq and Arthur Russell.”
