This week it’s By All Means Necessary, Boogie Down Productions’ second album, released in 1988.
Don says, “The murder of original member Scott La Rock prompted this more socially conscious effort from group leader KRS-One. The album’s artwork and title referenced Malcolm X and heralded the dawn of a more politicised form of hip hop earning KRS-One the title of ‘teacher'”.”
