“The Don’s selections cross time, space and genre – mixing his favourite new music with classics from the UK, Europe, USA, Jamaica, Africa, Japan and way beyond.
Each week he also highlights a piece of Crucial Vinyl – a cherished album from his own collection. This time it’s The Wolf that House Built, released by Little Axe in 1994.
Don says, ‘Little Axe is actually the alias of Skip McDonald, famous for his time in the Sugarhill house band. For this, his debut album, he employed the likes of drummer Keith LeBlanc, a studio musician at Tommy Boy Records and master tabla player Talvin Singh. To this already-tantalising combination, he then brought in Adrian Sherwood to co-produce…. Game over!’.”
