“The Don’s selections cross time, space and genre and include Crucial Vinyl from Peter Tosh.
Each week, as well as blending his favourite new releases with classics from the UK, USA, Jamaica, Africa and beyond, Don highlights a piece of Crucial Vinyl – a cherished album from his own collection. He explains why it means so much to him and features three key tracks. This week he picks Peter Tosh’s Legalize It, released in 1976.
Don says, “Talk about throwing down the gauntlet! This was Peter’s debut solo album after leaving Bob Marley and the Wailers, and he did just that with bunch of politically charged songs, which reflected the man they called the Stepping Razor’s very militant attitude. It includes the anthemic Legalize It, and made him a legend in his own right.”.”
