Each week, as well as blending key new releases with classics from the UK, USA, Jamaica and beyond, Don highlights a cherished album from his own collection. He explains why it means so much to him and features three key tracks. This week he selects Olive’s 1996 debut release Extra Virgin.
Don says, “Not sure why this album, made by a trip hop outfit from the north of England, didn’t appear on more people’s radars… even though the single ‘You’re Not Alone’ actually made it to number one. Anyway, the combination of heavy bass lines and big beats smothered in electronica were right up my street, and still it still sounds wicked on a good sound sytem – try it!”.”
