21-year-old Tyne & Wear native Maia is presenting her first ever Radio 1 shows as part of the station’s Christmas Presenters schedule. She is a journalist and producer who has worked for BBC News, and also presents on Islington Radio. She says: “My heart’s full of love and excitement to be doing Future Sounds, not just for me (although I’m low-key buzzing) but because it’s amazing to be able to highlight the very best female/non-binary and regional artists. Feeling so blessed!””
