“Last weekend Craig’s DJing duties took him to Henham Park in Suffolk for the Latitude festival. We’ll be broadcasting that set on tonight’s show.
A 6 Music listener will be picking their top 3 funk & soul tunes in the The Spinage au Trois. In the History of Women In Funk & Soul we will be taking a look Margie Joseph’s career. Her greatest success came in the 1970s with her versions of Paul McCartney’s “My Love” and The Supremes’ “Stop! In the Name of Love” and a duet with Blue Magic on “What’s Come Over Me.”.”

Craig will put together a 30-minute South American mix, so expect a Bossa Nova heavy funk filled soundtrack to your Saturday night. We’ll reveal the 6 on 6 in 6 challenge as set by the 6 Music listeners last weekend. They’ve picked 6 records and asked the remixing Diesler to mix them together into a 6 minute track. If anyone can do it the Diesler can. He’s a Club DJ, record producer, re-mixer and label manager at ‘Here and Now Records. We’ll be celebrating a lady who’s career has spanned 4 decades, beginning in the 1970’s as the front woman of the funk band Rufus. Tonight in The History of Women In Funk and Soul we’ll taking a look at the ‘Queen of Funk’ Chaka Khan.”

They’ll be Craig’s guests, giving us some stories from back in the day.
