Oh, yes! Been waiting for this one. Time for some old school dubstep from Mala!
“Mala is a founder member of dubstep pioneers Digital Mystikz and the legendary dubstep night DMZ. He released some of the very first dubstep records on his DMZ label and Hatcha’s Big Apple Records and was a key player on Mary Anne Hobbs seminal Dubstep Warz radio show in 2006, alongside a young Skream & Benga!
He remains as vital as ever to bass music, releasing one of 2012’s best albums ‘Mala in Cuba’ on Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings, a dubstep-meets-live-cuban-rhythms soundclash.”

“Benga is flying solo again this week, but he’s got a full house of guest!
This week Dub Police Records are in the building for a takeover of the Slammers & Bangers, bringing with them Subscape, The Others, Trolley Snatcha and IC3. They’ll also be jumping in on the Garage Shouts.
Plus Beni’s giving the Waze & Odyssey 130 @ 11:30 mix another spin and Subscape is in the hot seat for A History Of Bass. Lock in!”

“This week on Skream & Benga they’ve selected three of their favourite artists to supply guest mixes for their Spring Break Special. They’ve called upon dubstep legend Coki, Dirtybird’s go-to-girl J.Phlip and rising bass star Trampa.
First up, one third of DMZ alongside Mala and Loefah, Coki is one of the pioneers of the dubstep sound and, despite having been there since day one, this is the first time he’s ever done a mix for Radio 1! BIG NEWS! Next up is J.Phlip, she’s been DJing and releasing with Claude VonStroke’s San Francisco label Dirtybird and is an ambassador of the booty-clap house sound. Last, but by no means least, Trampa is stepping up. Since hammering his tracks Jurassic and Catch That the boys thought he’d be perfect for the Slammers & Bangers mix. Lock in!”
