“Detroit legend Stacey Pullen returns to Radio 1’s Essential Mix. Hailing from the home of techno, Pullen was mentored by the ‘big 3’; Derrick May, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson. He got his first gig at high school in 1985. He established himself touring with Derrick May around Europe in the early nineties. He released music on legendary techno labels like Transmat and his own label, Black Flag, which he resurrected last year. And he remains at the cutting edge as a DJ, with storming sets at Pacha and Cocoon in Ibiza this summer.”
