The first half was very locked into the deep groove while the last hour was all about old school soul beats. Great combination. My tips are the new James Blake (this lad can do no wrong) and the amazing hidden track labeled as “unknown” that dropped after. I think it’s forbidden to play that one so Benj has to cover it! He said that this new “band” will be big next year.
Benj will be on 10pm tonight (Wednesday 5 Jan) as part of the Specialist Takeover on BBC Radio 1. And J-Roc will co-host the show with him on the 19th January.
Benji also announced the new In New DJs We Trust line-up in 2011 – Skream and Benga who will do the one-hour show every month starting 13 January at 9pm.
