“Dixon picks a trio of tunes as resident DJ, ahead of the Innervisions showcase at the Royal Albert Hall on the 21st of September.
Innervisions was founded in 2005 by Steffen Berkhahn, aka Dixon, plus Kristian Rädle and Frank Wiedemann of Âme, The Berlin-based house and techno DJ, producer and label manager has been voted the number one DJ on Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJ Poll every year since 2013, so expect treats for your ears and dancing feet!
There’s also an appreciation of the joys of Aphex Twin as the legendary Richard D. James releases his new ‘Collapse’ EP this week. Rumours circulated of his return a week before the EP was announced, when a 3D version of his logo appeared on the walls of London’s Elephant & Castle tube station, as well as other locations in New York, Turin and LA. His last full-length album Syro was released in 2014. It earned a Mercury Music Prize nomination and won the GRAMMY for Best Dance/Electronic Album. It came 13 years after his previous LP Drukqs (2001). Richard D. James released his earliest records as AFX and Polygon Window, before releasing his acclaimed debut album Selected Ambient Works 85-92 in 1992 on R&S Records. He has said that experiences of synaesthesia and lucid dreaming have influenced his records.
So get ready for an eclectic couple of hours featuring hand-picked house, dance, electronica, beats, breaks, funk, and hip-hop, both old and new.”
