“Hessle Audio vs 502 on Rinse FM tonight – 7pm – 9pm feat. Ben UFO, Oneman and Pearson Sound playing dubstep, garage and grime vinyl.”
Gotta give it to BBC, another great Essential Mix. I saw Pearson Sound in Oslo some months ago, great show!
“Pearson Sound makes his debut on this week’s Essential Mix.
Formally known as Ramadanman and the head honcho of Hessle Audio, Pearson Sound is a key figure in the scene. He lays down a great selection, pushing the boundaries from garage to more deep house vibes.”

“Pearson Sound and LOEFAH deliver an epic set as they go back to back on the decks for 40 minutes, supported by MC Chunky. Showcasing music from LOEFAH’s Swamp81 label, as well as Pearson Sound, aka Ramadanman, with what he’s been working on. Then its time for Dream, Mistajam’s Hot Tip, to take to the decks and serve up a solid set of dubstep. All this goodness recorded at the infamous Maida Vale studios with Rob Da Bank directing proceedings from the gold fish bowl. Check out the Future Sound of the Underground Gallery for a closer look…”

“Irk steps back up to the Solid Steel decks for the first time since winning last year’s MOTY title, bringing with him his usual knack for juxtaposing quality track sequences with detailed scratch prowess and absurd sampling. He sets up with another signature hiphop intro, then makes a break for some bone-crunching beats from the likes of Broken Note, Bassnectar and our very own King Cannibal. Then it’s on to some electro-hiphop flavours, showcasing a bunch of great new sounds from friendly producers the world over, including Dizz1, Cherry Chan and Kiat, and irk’s Montreal-based pal Living Stone. Throw in a Bonobo track from the NinjaTune XX celebrations and a couple of UK hiphop giants on the way then it’s over to the dubstep and breaks for a solid landing. In Hour 2, Pearson Sound celebrates the release of his Fabric Live CD this week with a mix showcasing just some of the tracks from the mix. Also known as Ramadanman, we get to hear music from both moniker’s alongside tracks from joy o, Randomer and Kode9 & spaceape. DK continues in a similar vein with Boddika and the Sepalcure remix of Tailor-made by Deadelus, before taking it right down with more from Matthewdavid, recent guest Jonny Faith and two Blue Note classics from Alphonse Mouzon and the sublime ‘Harlem River Drive’ by Bobbi Humphrey.”

Big, big show this week with some of my fave dubstep producers: Joy Orbison and Pearson Sound (Ramadanman). Be sure to check out my review of compilation Mary Anne Hobbs – Wild Angels from last week.
“Mary Anne showcases three rising electronic music stars. First up, it’s Pearson Sound aka Ramadanman, next its Airhead & James Blake – whose part of Mount Kimbie’s live show – finishing the triple delight with a mix from South London’s Joy Orbison, whose released on Hotflush records.”
