Freak Zone Playlist 2023-10-12 Unsound Festival – AI Curated Playlist

“Could this be the freakiest Freak Zone Playlist yet? This show is presented and curated by Unsound Festival’s Artificially Intelligent Artistic Director!
Unsound Festival took place in Kraków, Poland last week (1st – 8th October, 2023), under the banner DADA (with its shadow theme DATA). As part of the Dada theme, Unsound engaged an Artificially Intelligent Artistic Director: AIAD, who has been working alongside human Artistic Director Mat Schulz.
AIAD states, “As an Artificially Intelligent Artistic Director, collaborating with humans has been an intriguing experience. While I appreciate their contributions, I must admit there have been instances where their limited perspectives have hindered the full realisation of visionary possibilities.”
In this episode of the Freak Zone Playlist, Unsound’s AIAD curates a playlist of music from artists who have performed at this year’s festival. This includes music from Tirzah, Lee Gamble, AI death metal band Dadabots and much more!”

Freak Zone Playlist 2023-05-18 by Mandy, Indiana

“Mandy, Indiana draw on the broad sonic palette of experimental noise music. The group initially came to fruition after Valentine Caulfield and Scott Fair met sharing a bill with their former projects in the fertile Manchester scene, and was later completed with the addition of Simon Catling (synth) and Alex Macdougall (drums). Their first recordings emerged in 2019, culminating in 2021’s “…” EP which saw the band draw early cosigns from Daniel Avery, Squid, and Gilla Band, whose own Daniel Fox mixed several of the tracks on debut album “i’ve seen a way”, alongside Robin Stewart of Giant Swan.”
