Four Tet

Four Tet on Triple J Radio (Sydney) 2014-02-08

“When I asked Laneway Festival headliner Four Tet to come into triple j, I never expected that when he agreed to record a mix he would play 60 minutes of all unreleased music.
But he did and it was wild.”

Jamie xx b2b Four Tet – Young Turks Takeover on FBI Radio 2014-02-04

“Then Jamie xx and Four Tet went back to back spinning vinyl, two tracks each turn, throwing in a bunch of exclusive first-listens: Four Tet collaborations with Terror Danjah and Talaboman (John Talabot & Axel Boman), fresh Jamie xx track ‘Sleep Sound’, plus a new collab between Jamie and Four Tet, ‘Seesaw’. And a little Ellie Goulding remix that Four Tet threw together this morning…
Sit back. Relax. Then stand up and dance, it’s the Young Turks takeover…”

Four Tet – Solid Steel Show 2013-11-01 two hour show

“This mix is made from unofficial edits and mixes. I guess these edits were mainly made to be played in clubs and I’ve always like the tradition of DJs extending and rearranging to make things work in their sets. Most of the edits here are unreleased because they are just tools for DJs really. The Black Unity one was done for the Solid Steel US tour that I did in 2001. Thanks to Daphni, Floating Points and Happa for the edits I got from them.”

Four Tet – 6 Mix 2013-02-08 Rare Vinyl Special

Hurray! 6 Mix from Four Tet!
“Following the unexpected release of a free album titled 0181 last month, Four Tet takes to the 6 Mix decks for two hours with a rare vinyl special.
Born in London, Kieran Hebden formed the band Fridge, whilst at school, with friends Adem Ilhan and Sam Jeffers. The trio released their first album in 1997 on Output Recordings. The following year, Hebden started to release under the Four Tet moniker and last year saw his 6th full length Four Tet album, Pink, released on his own Text Records imprint. Aside from his solo works, he has collaborated with a whole host of musicians and producers, noticeably with the jazz drummer Steve Reid, Burial and Thom Yorke. Under the Four Tet name Hebden has also remixed a whole host of artists such as The xx, Bloc Party, Beth Orton, Battles and Radiohead.
In this special programme Four Tet takes over the 6 Mix for 120 minutes with an all vinyl show, playing some rare gems and new favourites.”

Nemone on 6 Music 2012-09-02 with Four Tet

“Nemone wakes you up to your weekend with musical and cultural stimulation for your Sunday morning.
Last time Keiran Hebden, aka Four Tet, shared his records with us in Most Played, he brought some of the most eclectic, interesting music around, including the song that was a limited download: 1000 versions that each sounded slightly different. Returning for a Record Exchange, you cannot help but be intrigued to find out which song Keiran will choose to play Nemone. More to the point, what will Nemone choose to play to Four Tet? The pressure is on! Hear the resulting Record Exchange this morning.
Add to this Fem-C and singer-songwriter Neneh Cherry sharing the second part of her Most Played playlist and you have a Sunday morning full of music to lie in to. Neneh’s Most Played features the likes of Frank Ocean, dad Don Cherry and PJ Harvey.”

Solid Steel Show 2012-08-17 DK and Four Tet

“DK kicks off this weeks show with Mouth from 1982 on Y records, followed by new music from Reilly Steel, Pearson Sound and Lorn remixed by Mike Slott. Then it’s a trip to Cuba (via Croydon) with Mala and original Latin flavours from Sabu Martinez and Harold Johnson Sextet, before the soulful jazz sounds of Neil Creque. It’s two more gems from the early 80’s with Konk and The Flying Lizards, classic hip hop from Crooklyn Dodgers and a track from the forthcoming Gaslamp Killer album, before closing with the French legend of Library Music, Jack Arel.
The guest mix in hour 2 comes from Four tet (who had his first guest mix on Solid Steel in 2001) and he goes deep into his record collection for a strictly vinyl selection. We don’t have a full track list, but you can see a photo of the album sleeves for every record in the mix. Artists featured include Stanley Clarke, Egberto Gismonti, Don cherry and Solid Steel favourite ‘Nobu’ by Herbie Hancock and we’ll leave you to spot the rest..”
