Definitely! I like Iggy’s show too, but the 6 Mix was awesome as sort of a more eclectic variant of the Essential Mix. And they had some great guests over the years.
Yes, I think it’s also reflected in the branding on the BBC website. If the usual host chooses someone to sit in for them, it’s usually still labelled as the original show, but with an episode title of “XY sitting in”. For the three weeks without Worldwide shows, though, they have given each of the presenters their own show page with no reference to GP.
I just wish they would bring back the 6 Mix!
Come to think of it, it’s a bit weird John Grant and Sister Bliss to sit in. Don’t think GP has ever played their music. It’s probably not down to GP’s decision. Would be great to see people like Thom Yorke, James Blake or Ross Allen doing. Norman Jay is good though.
