Gilles Peterson Worldwide 2012-03-28 Gilles’ Final Show On Radio 1!

“Tonight it was Gilles’ final show on Radio 1, with a studio full of friends and family! With clips from 2001’s NERD interview, a brand new Tigran Hamasyan and LV Maida Vale collaboration, a classic Raphael Saadiq session track and a crateful of classic tunes, Gilles went out in style, chatting to various producers he worked with on the station as they chose their favourite tracks of their time. Next stop, 3pm, April 7th, on 6Music.”

  1. It really is sad to see Gilles leave. 🙁
He has been part of my own musical journey throughout the years, I can’t thank him enough for all the wonderful music and artists he has introduced me to. Good times.
And, most of all, a BIG thank you to you, Thomas, for providing us all with his great shows. 🙂
Looking forward to his new stint over at 6music. Those will keep me coming back to Core News for more. 😀

  2. Totally agree.
I would like to thank you too, Thomas, for all the work uploading GP´s shows every single week, even changing to mediafire or other sources when needed. Gotta say I forwarded your links several times to insist my friends of giving a listen.
    Keep it up, regards!!!

  3. I very much agree with both previous comments. Although I have only been listening to GP for a couple years(he even gave me a shout out once after I initially found his show through your links and emailed him my appreciations!) I will say it’s sad to see him lose his spot.

Will you be posting links to his new 6music shows?

    Thanks again.

  4. I don’t get why listeners are sad to see him leave Radio 1. We are all getting 1 more hour of good music when he starts his new show on 6 music and i am sure Thomas will be posting those shows as well, so I am personally excited that he is leaving Radio 1. And now that he is on during day time, I might even listen live once in a while.

But I definitely agree with all of you, that Thomas is doing a great job and I appreciate it a lot.

  5. So sad to hear about Gilles show but I am so glad I got a chance to see him in LA for a very special late nite rendezvous in a warehouse at 3AM. Without Gilles I wouldn’t have learned about all these incredible artists. I try telling everyone who knows good music to check Gilles Peterson. And much appreciation to Thomas for providing all those countless hours of mixes/sets.
