“The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show will be channel hopping from BBC Radio 6 Music to BBC Radio 2 at 9pm for 1 hour. Craig will be opening up his trunk of funk to give you classic Motown, Northern Soul, R&B, gospel and contemporary remixes that will form an hour of party tunes.
We’ll also be hearing from a Secret Soul Girl / Boy, who’ll be picking their favourite funk or soul tracks. It could be from an actor, comedian or even sports folk. Mr Charles will also be bringing you a funk or soul track that’s never had a spin on Radio 2 in ‘New to 2’. We need you to let us know what track you’d like to hear and who we need to be playing it for.”

“The Temptations & The Four Tops ruled the charts in the 60’s and 70’s with their Motown sound. Founding members Otis Williams and Duke Fakir, are still touring with a new line up and selling out venues across up and down the country. They’ll be Craig’s guests, giving us some stories from back in the day.
At 8pm Craig gives you 30 minutes of back-to-back tracks in The Trunk of Funk.
We continue to chart The History of Women In Funk & Soul, shining the spotlight on another legend, this week with Candi Staton.
And as 6 Music celebrates Ireland we’ll be playing some ‘Dublin Funk’.
And as always we open up the playlist to you for the section of the show we called The Spinage au Trois.”
