Tom Ravenscroft 2011-11-18 guest mix from Walls

“Featuring a 20 minute Guest mix from Anglo-Italian electronic duo Walls, who recently released their new album ‘Coracle’ on Kompakt records.
Tom will play a track that a listener found in a charity shop in the aptly titled ‘Charity Drop’. A listener selects a year and then picks 2 tracks from it and an object to put into the ‘Tom Capsule’ for the last time.”

Solid Steel Show 2011-11-18 Orangewarrior and Ruckus Roboticus

“This week it’s a mix from Orangewarrior starting off with some bass-heavy juke flavours from the likes of Eprom, Krampfhaft and Machinedrum, we then go into jungle, dancehall, drum and bass, dubstep, old skool ardkore, a bit of glitch hop, some funky, and finally a dash of moombahcore, before finally winding down with an old hip hop favourite from Luniz.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner across the pond, our stateside resident Ruckus Roboticus presents his latest mix: “I’m Thankful” – a musical tribute to all the people and things Ruckus is thankful for everyday (not just on Thanksgiving!). In the mix, are soulful classics from Otis Redding and Spanky Wilson; funky classics from Sly and The Family Stone, and Maceo And All The King’s Men; hip-hop from Afrika Bambaataa and Biz Markie; disco from Donald Byrd and William DeVaughn; jazz from Melvin Sparks and Gus Poole; and much more! ”

Agoria live at I Love Techno 2011-11-12

“Agoria first gained international recognition with a series of 12”s on PIAS in 2002, which were followed by the acclaimed album ‘Blossom’ a year later. Since then, Agoria has released two more long-players; ‘The Green Armchair’ (2006) and the soundtrack ‘Go Fast’ (2008), all showcasing Agoria’s talent for creating deep, stripped-back, melodic, techno tracks. In addition Agoria has compiled three mix-cd’s and founded his own imprint. InFiné is a label that follows no rules, shies away from trends and features young, new talents, from various parts of the world. Agoria’s own debut on the label only came in 2009 with his 12” ‘Magnolia/Libellules’. However, with his new third album ‘Impermanence’ one can clearly hear that InFiné has also had an influence on Agoria’s own music.”

Cassius live at I Love Techno 2011-11-12

“Together with Daft Punk and Etienne De Crécy, Philippe Zdar (Motorbass) and Boombass – together known as Cassius – were responsible for the French Touch movement in the 90s. But in 2011 they are still together, and more importantly, still going strong, as they proved with their megahit “I <3 U So” on Ed Banger Records earlier this year. Currently, they’re together in the studio, writing the follow-up to their last album ‘15 Again’. In the meantime Zdar kept himself more than busy, producing albums for Phoenix, The Rapture and his all-time heroes The Beastie Boys." Cassius live at I Love Techno 2011-11-12 [Filesonic]

Brodinski live at I Love Techno 2011-11-12

“Brodinski is another one of those French young guns. Only 24 years old but already a fast rising star in the current electro scene. His debut ‘Bad Runner’ on Mental Groove, that he made together with his good friend Yuksek, got played by Erol Alkan, Tiga and all the other usual suspects. That was enough to kick-start his career and in the meantime he’s a regular on labels such as Turbo, Southern Fried, Grizzly and Relief Reocrds, whilst doing remixes for people like Klaxons, Mixhell and DJ Mehdi. If you get the chance, check out the mix-cd he did for the Bugged Out series Suck My Deck.”

Digitalism live at I Love Techno 2011-11-12

“Germany’s Digitalism are mashing garage band attitude with pumping electro music while in cahoots with the stylish French dance label Kitsuné. Their loose heavily distorted rough grooves and blankly delivered lyrics owe as much to Joy Division as they do to Daft Punk. For the past years, they have been the go-to men for remixes, having reworked the Klaxons, Dave Gahan, Tiga and Daft Punk. Their debut album ‘Idealism’ was one of 2007’s best albums and this year they finally released the long-awaited follow-up called ‘I Love You, Dude’.”

Fake Blood live at I Love Techno 2011-11-12

“There is very little known about Fake Blood. When his global crossover hit ‘Mars’ got released on Hervé’s Cheap Thrills label, his real identity was still a mystery. It even took some time before the English press could reveal it was in fact a disguise of DJ Touché. But that didn’t stop the remix offers from massively coming in; UNKLE, The Kills, Underworld, Armand Van Helden, Gossip… you name ‘em! Than there was the new single ‘I Think I Like It’ – which became at least as big – and his first mix-cd. The long-awaited new Fake Blood EP is due to come out this autumn. We can’t wait to see him at I Love Techno, where he’ll play live for the very first time!”

Sebastien San live at I Love Techno 2011-11-12

“Sebastien San grew up to the sounds of Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Serge Gainsbourg. He went from working in a record shop over being a DJ and throwing parties to becoming a globally well respected techno producer. He began releasing on DJ Hell’s Gigolo imprint, and has since than released records on Carl Craig’s legendary Detroit label Planet E Communications, Rush Hour, Echocord Colour, Len Faki’s Figure label, our very own We Play House Recordings… the list of quality labels is endless. He also worked together with the deplored Detroit legend Aaron-Carl. With many more projects in the pipeline, Sebastien shows no signs of slowing down.”
