Dubpressure on MoS Radio 2011-12-19 dubstep hosted by Kion

“Dubpressure: The long-standing club night run by Unlikely, Letty, Dom and Kion of Clandestine Cultivations. Starting in 2005, it grew to become Brighton’s premier dubstep event, and thanks to the resident Gramps soundsystem one of UK’s best for deep bass – drawing regular roadblock crowds to the numerous seafront venues it has held residence in over the years.”

FACT mix 305 by Presk

“The Dutch producer/DJ, real name Pieter Willems, caught our attention thanks to his debut EP, Love Again, released eariler this year on Doc Daneeka’s Ten Thousand Yen label.
When first introducing him to us, Daneeka described Presk’s sound as “a cross between whatyacallit and techno”; a tongue-in-cheek simplification perhaps, but one which does nail the essence of what makes his tunes stand out. The swing and accenting on his beats betrays the influence of UK garage and funky, but he’s also unafraid to lock things down into a taut, tracky 4/4 throb. Combined with his flair for moody synth hooks and bruising b-lines, it’s magic: just listen to the drop on ‘Devour’ and try not to bite your lip in approbation.”

“Charlie Sloth has been on a road-trip to find the hottest rappers up North and try to understand why rap music in the U.K is dominated by the London scene.

It’s Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s first multi-platform documentary available to both watch and listen. Featuring Shotty Horroh, Bang On, Tez Kidd, Hoodman, The Projekt and Sermstyle.”
