Don Letts 2017-02-05 Crucial Dub Syndicate

“The Don’s selections cross time, space and genre and include a piece of Crucial Vinyl from Dub Syndicate.
Each week, as well as blending his favourite new music with classics from the UK, USA, Jamaica, Africa and way beyond, Don highlights a piece of Crucial Vinyl — a cherished album from his own collection. He explains why it means so much to him, and features three key tracks. This week it’s Stoned Immaculate, released by Dub Syndicate in 1991.
Don says, “Formed by producer Adrian Sherwood to showcase his collaborations with drummer the late Lincoln ‘Style’ Scott, this dub outfit was one of the On-U sound label’s most popular acts, along with African Head Charge. Their sonic experiments revolved around reggae, dub and dancehall, so naturally this is a very bass-heavy affair, and consequently demands a serious system for playback!”.”
