“Gilles is back in the studio for another mix up selection and this week he is joined in the studio by LA-based saxophonist Kamasi Washington and pianist Ben Sidran, who are both in town for this year’s London Jazz Festival.
Gilles’ first guest, Kamasi Washington, has played with a diverse range of musicians including Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Lauryn Hill, Chaka Khan and Flying Lotus. He also contributed saxophone on Kendrick Lamar’s second album To Pimp a Butterfly and released his own solo album on Brainfeeder earlier this year, called The Epic. This week’s second guest is Chicago born pianist and vocalist Ben Sidran; a prolific jazz musican and author who has produced over 30 albums in his career.”
