“2015 has been a strong year for the funk & soul scene. New York – London all-star soul group Ephemerals released their hard-hitting ‘Chasin Ghosts’ album. Hot 8 Brass Band were at the heart of a current fever for all things brass. They put out their ‘Vicennial’ album which proved they’re the number 1 purveyors of, jazz infused, funk and hip hop. The Brand New Heavies and Juliette Ashby continued to represent for the UK. And we saw the return of Cymande who released a new album, their first in over 4 decades. The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show where lucky enough to have all these guys in session and we’ll be revisiting the pick of the bunch on tonight’s show.”
